UFC 83
from www.serrajitsu.com
21 - 2008
This past weekend at UFC 83, Matt "The Terror" Serra stepped into the octagon against Georges St-Pierre in front of a sold-out crowd in Montreal, Canada. All of us here at Serra Jiu-Jitsu along with fans stretched across the globe, are extremely proud of Matt Serra. Amidst all the booing, trash talking, and hype that led up to the fight, The Terror walked straight into St-Pierre's hometown and fought with everything he had. Even though the fight did not turn out the way he or many of us expected, we are proud of Matt and are looking forward to seeing him step into the ring very soon.
At the end of the fight, Matt showed a lot of class and congratulated St-Pierre on a well fought fight by carrying him across the ring over his shoulder, and judging by the crowd, earned the respect of at least a few more Canadian fans!
In closing, although the fight did not go Matt's way that night, you can be sure he will be back to fight again soon and will be an even better fighter. Matt has always been one to improve and learn from his previous fights. Win, lose, or draw, he is still a champion!
See Matt's post fight interview here.

Congrats Team Madama Serra!!!
This weekend we were well represented at the NAGA tourney. Glenn Sonnabend swept his division submitting all of his opponents. He racked up 2 rear naked chokes, 2 triangle chokes, and an armbar en route to his second straight tournament win. Jeremy DiNardo also took home the gold defeating 4 tough competitors in his division. Alan Ulbricht also had a good showing landing a flying flying armbar in one of his matches for what may have been the days fastest submission. He went on to take 4th. Congratulations to all of our competitors for getting out there and putting it on the line. Your teammates and coaches are very proud of your hard work.
Check back soon for pics, vids, and more results.
